    Jefferson County Fair- Founded in 1817, this is the oldest running fair in the entire country. With a little bit of everything from clowns, frisbee dog contests, bear shows, vendors, food and just general fair entertainment, there is something here for the whole family to enjoy.

    The War of 1812 Weekend Grand Tactical is one of North America's largest reenactment events featuring the war and lifestyles during the time around 1812. American and Canadian "Crown" units reenact dances, weddings, and battles at the nationally ranked Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site each year.

    The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site was a vitally important location during the War of 1812 since the harbor contained a shipyard and because of the proximity to the Canadian border just across the St. Lawrence River. Several battles took place here and the National Parks Service has ranked Sackets Harbor as one of the nation's top 10 sites of the War of 1812.

    Syracuse


    The M&T Syracuse Jazz Festival is the northeast's largest free jazz festival. It is an all day music fest and has featured many prominent bands and artists over the years including the Doobie Brothers, Kenny G, Natalie Cole, and Aretha Franklin to name a few.

    The Syracuse Polish Festival is a free weekend-long festival drawing about 20,000 visitors to join in celebrating Polish food, music, dancing, and culture.

    The CNY Jazz Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization that brings jazz to the community in Syracuse. They operate the 17-piece Jazz Orchestra and several events throughout the year, such as the Jazz in the Square Festival, Jazz Jams, Summer Jazz Workshop, and Black History Month Cabaret Series. Their headquarters is a theatre downtown called Jazz Central which features a "green roof" that collects over 50,000 gallons of stormwater every year.

    Metal 'Cuse is an annual hard rock and metal concert featuring many local and national bands to benefit the Ronnie James Dio Cancer Fund and many local charities.

    The Great New York State Fair is one of the largest and oldest state fairs in the country. This 12-day fair holds countless events, games, rides, and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. There are big-name concerts, a veterans parade, antiques shows, wine and chocolate festival, agriculture events and competitions, an 800-pound butter sculpture on display, and much more.
